How to Steam Lobster

Instructions:
  • Pour 2 inches of water into a pot (include sea salt if using fresh water).
  • Bring water to heavy boil.
  • Using gloves or tongs, place the Maine lobsters into the pot, cover tightly.
  • When the water returns to a heavy boil, turn the heat down to a rolling boil and start the timer.
  • Steam lobsters for 9 minutes for the first pound, and add 4 minutes for each additional pound.
  • Steamed lobsters will be bright red when done.
  • Removed the steamed lobsters with metal tongs or gloves and place in cool water or let cool for 3-5 minutes.

Before you begin cooking any live lobster, please place the lobsters in the freezer for 10-20 minutes to kill the lobsters humanely. This puts a lobster to sleep before it actually dies. This way there is no way a lobster could feel pain. You may then take your lobster bands off the lobster before cooking.

How to Cook Haddock

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20-25 minutes

Ingredients:

1-1.5lb of haddock
8oz portion of fresh crab meat (OPTIONAL)
1 sleeve of ritz crackers (garlic or plain)
1 stick of real butter, melted
1 tsp of garlic salt
1 fresh lemon

Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Clean and dry haddock, place in 9” by 11” pan.
  • Sprinkle with garlic salt, squeeze approx. 1 ½ tsp of lemon juice over haddock.
  • Melt butter, mix crushed crackers and crab meat (crab meat optional) into butter. Spread over top of haddock.

  • Bake haddock at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes on the top rack of the oven until fish flakes easily.
  • Remove haddock from oven, let it simmer for 1-2 minutes & enjoy!
